- Avoid passing trucks that are turning.Pay attention to the sign on the back of a truck that says, “This vehicle makes wide turns.” It’s true. Trucks and other large commercial vehicles make much wider turns than smaller passenger vehicles. Attempting to pass a turning truck puts you at an increased risk of being involved in a semi truck accident.
- Obey the rules of the road.Practice safe driving habits when you are behind the wheel. When you drive consistently and predictably, it is much easier to avoid accidents. Pay attention to posted speed limits, always pass on the left, and keep a safe distance between your vehicle and others. Avoid distracted driving and running red lights.
